摘要:  著名社会学家大卫·马丁( David Martin )指出: “在刚刚过去的世纪,基督教最激动人心的发展即五旬节运动及其灵恩派的巨大外围。传统的独立和灵恩教会:特别指中国、印度及撒哈拉非洲的一些教派,它们可能与经典的五旬节派产生的时间接近,却一般没有横向的机构联系,比如锡安教会( Zion — type church )或灵恩教会( Spirit — type church ) 。新五旬节派和新灵恩运动:包括信仰之道( word of faith )教会、“第三波”、新使徒教会及众多独立教会运动。

    著名社会学家大卫·马丁(David Martin)指出:“在刚刚过去的世纪,基督教最激动人心的发展即五旬节运动及其灵恩派的巨大外围。如果说五旬节运动主要是在非西方世界的穷人中扩张,灵恩运动的兴起则更多是中产阶级的。在西方如此,全球也同样。”[※注]由此,20世纪也被称为是五旬节的世纪,或“圣灵的世纪”(the century of the Holy Spirit)。[※注]到2000年时,全球有5亿2300万五旬节—灵恩派教徒,占世界基督教人口的27.7%。这一运动包括了740个五旬节宗派,6530个卷入灵恩运动的非五旬节主流宗派,18810个独立的、新灵恩运动宗派和网络。这一运动横跨了150个非五旬节的传统宗派,包括了9000多个种族、8000多个语种和世界95%的人口。截至目前,这一运动仍然以每年900万人的速度增长,每天的增长超过25000人。其中,三分之一与正常的人口增长相关,三分之二则为新的皈依教徒。[※注]五旬节—灵恩运动是一个包含了多种派别的综合性运动。[※注]一些基本的特征包括:初始证据(initial evidence)、说方言、灵洗、唱灵歌、跳灵舞、医病赶鬼等。“神迹与奇事”(signs and wonders)、“健康与财富”(health and wealth)是20世纪五旬节—灵恩运动的两个标志性口号。[※注]

    20世纪90年代以来,中国大陆学者有关中国基督教现状的研究呈现出研究成果骤增、研究队伍扩大、研究手段丰富、研究内容广泛而深入等特征。据笔者不完全统计,90年代以来,大陆学者在海内外公开出版的学术刊物上共发表相关论文200余篇,这个数量是自建国以来至1990年之前所有公开发表的相关论文数量的30倍;在1990年以来的此类
